Movement Assembly
Assembly of the Degrowth Movement
On August 23rd, the day before the 8th International Degrowth Conference officially kicks off, the 2nd International Assembly of the Degrowth Movement will take place (online). This assembly aims to bring together degrowth nodes and people interested in consolidating the degrowth movement.
Online meeting room:
The Movement Assembly will take place here: https://meet.degrowth.nl/and-pqc-vzi-pwq . However, please note that only those who have registered for the Assembly will be able to enter the room.
To be or not to be… a movement? It is time to choose and put degrowth into practice!
A survey in 2018 identified 114 groups/collectives worldwide that consider themselves part of the movement for degrowth. Later that year, some members of these collectives met in Freetown Christiania (Denmark) for a first international meeting. This meeting resulted in the creation of several international working groups on activism, research, and more.
We now invite you to join the 2nd International Assembly of the Degrowth Movement.
Why this Assembly?
The aim of this meeting is to provide a space to further develop the plans and objectives of this emerging network and to collectively decide how we want to organize. While these first two meetings have been initiated by the Support Group, the idea is to establish a new group to facilitate future assemblies as well as communication and coordination of its members.
You can find the program for the Assembly here.
