Decoloniality and Degrowth
What does this entail?
This Key Conversation on Decoloniality and Degrowth is conceived as a learning process for interested participants who want to co-create collective strategies for decolonization(s) of learning, nurturing, healing and sensing. Decoloniality as an analytic and praxis is centered in the de-silencing of knowledges and ways of being and sensing produced as non-existent by modern/colonial capitalist patriarchy. It proposes a turn to an epistemic or cognitive South for the reconstitution of the web of life.
This Key Conversation’s aim is promoting coalitions between degrowth movements and with individuals and collectives at the frontline of decolonization struggles in the Netherlands and Europe.
This stream could involve the following activities:
- A key/note address that stimulates generative questions with the degrowth movement and collectives (academic, activist, artistic)
- A series of workshops to prepare participants for a process of unlearning and relearning
- A series of visits and tours that stimulate conversations over implication, responsibility, debt and reparations
- A closing panel that stimulates alternative imaginations and re-learning with others
